The Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE) is a non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization founded to promote economic literacy in Mississippi.  The MCEE's mission is to meet the critical need of insuring that the K-12 schools and teachers in Mississippi provide quality instruction in economics and personal finance to our young people, that is academically sound and non-partisan.  The MCEE provides resources and training to public and private K-12 teachers in Mississippi, empowering educators to teach their students how economics relates to their lives as a worker, citizen and consumer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Master Teacher in Economics Program

Registration for the Master Teacher in Economics program is now available!  Teachers' average score on a test of economics literacy is 62 before MCEE training and 86 after the training, a 40 percent increase.  Click here for your application!

2008 U.S. Senator Thad Cochran Forum on American Enterprise

Planning is underway for the fifth annual Forum on American Enterprise honoring U.S. Senator Thad Cochran by the Board of Directors of Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE) is underway.  The Forum will be held on Tuesday, October 14 from 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Jackson Marriott located at 200 E. Amite in downtown Jackson.  The Forum is a major fundraiser for the MCEE, which is the only non profit organization in the state to provide professional development for the state’s K-12 teachers in economic and financial education.  MCEE is the country’s 9th most productive state council according to the National Council on Economic Education.
