TEACHERS GO TO RECESS AT PARKWAY PROPERTIES
JACKSON,
Miss., April 17, 2008 – Going to recess has
a new meaning for economics teachers
participating in an innovative
business/education partnership between the
Mississippi Council on Economic Education
(MCEE) and Parkway Properties. RECESS
(Real Estate Concepts and Economics Summit) is
a 16-week seminar series that gives educators
a window into the real estate industry and
access to real world applications they can
share with students in their classrooms.

The
competition was the fiercest and biggest yet
yesterday as Mississippi
students put their knowledge of
economics to the test.
The spirited competition in Jackson
Tuesday was fun and a little nerve-wracking,
just like the March Madness of college hoops.
The 2008 National Economics Challenge matched
fifteen schools, with two student-teams, both
from Madison Central High, emerging as the
"Mississippi State Division Winners.”

LYNCH ONCE AGAIN SUPPORTING STUDENT’S

MS, December 5, 2007— Merrill Lynch
announced today that it will once again
support Mississippi’s efforts to make the
state more competitive in the knowledge-based
economy through a grant to support programming
provided by the Mississippi Council on
Economic Education (MCEE). The Merrill
Lynch grant will support the Mississippi Stock
Market Game (SMG) and the Merrill Lynch
Promising Young Entrepreneur Awards.

LITERACY ACHIEVED THROUGH WELL-TRAINED TEACHERS!

30, 2007--JACKSON, MISS. Mississippi
students score 48 percent before their teachers
teach them financial literacy skills and score
80 percent after the unit on financial
education. Financial literacy is learned
and Mississippi teachers are proving that they
can teach it through a program provided by the
Mississippi Council on Economic Education
(MCEE).
